He was predeceased by: his parents, Curtis Fortenberry and Dorothy Fortenberry; his daughter Memory Fortenberry; his siblings, Curtis Walter Fortenberry, Jr., Charles Polk and Willie B. Culpepper; his aunt Dell Dunaway; and his uncle J. C. Dunaway.
He is survived by: his daughters, Rachelle Runnels (Anthony) of New Augusta, DeAnna Fortenberry (Austin Rollin) of Hattiesburg, Regan Fortenberry of Hattiesburg and Elizabeth Fortenberry of Hattiesburg; his sister Alma Roberts (Jesse) of Hattiesburg; his grandchildren, Megan Jones, Hunter Goff, Adalynn Lumpkin, Karson Ellis, Memory Fortenberry and Hadley Sloan; and his great grandchildren, Ava Jones, Christopher King, Aubrielle Jones, Daisy Goff, Amelia Goff and Kason Goff.
