It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Susan Hanks of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, born in New Orleans, Louisiana, who passed away on June 20, 2025, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Clifford Shaw and Mary Shaw; and her daughter Melanie Hanks. She is survived by: her husband Peter Hanks; her son Caleb Hanks; her grandchildren, Kymberli Hanks and Ainsley Hanks; and her great grandchildren, Jackson and Cameron.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Mississippi Ataxia Support Group of the National Ataxia Foundation, where she was an active member her entire adult life and served as past President.
