He was predeceased by: his wife Dee Medlin; his son William "Bill" Burnett; his parents, Wade Medlin and Izora Medlin; and his brothers, Joe Medlin and Charlie Medlin.
He is survived by: his daughter Sandy Medlin Barron (Vernon Mitchell) of Hattiesburg; and his grandchildren, Thomas Joseph "T. J." Barron of Hattiesburg and Anie Mitchell of Seminary.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hub City Humane Society or Southern Pines Animal Shelter.
