She was predeceased by: her parents, James Thomas McDonald and Queen Hudgins; her siblings, Kathryn Loucille Sanders and Billy Charles McDonald; and her children, Angela Kathryn Luttrell and Jimmy Ray Thornton.
She is survived by: her husband James Thornton; her grandchildren, Wes Luttrell (Kristina) of Hernando, MS, Shannon Morman (Bradley) of Quitman, AR and Cory Thornton (Crystal); and her siblings, Alma Jean Smith of Talladega, AL, James Milton McDonald (Sandra) of Fort Worth, TX and Gail Melton (Herbert) of Brandon, MS.. She is also survived by seven great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, July 21st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Goodman Oaks Church of Christ (1700 Goodman Rd E, Southaven, MS 38671). A funeral service was held on Monday, July 21st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, July 21st 2025 at 12:30 PM at the Forest Hill Cemetery South (2545 E Holmes Rd, Memphis, TN 38118).
