She was predeceased by: her parents, Juanamai Cates, and Wendell L. Cates, Sr.. She is survived by: her husband Brent Lavers; her daughters, Sarah Lavers Harrison (Matt) and Susan Lavers Carlisle (Chad); her brother Wendell L. Cates Jr. (Frances); and her grandchildren, Elizabeth, Catherine Harrison (Memphis), Davis and Max Carlisle (Atlanta). She is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews.
