It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Edith Sandra Jones of Hickory, Mississippi, who passed away on January 13, 2026, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. As Edith departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Edith may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Edith leaves behind.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Emmett Vardaman Smith and Gertrude Ann Munn Smith; her husband Walter Allan Jones of Hickory; and her son Rex Allan Jones.
