She was predeceased by : her parents, John Lewis Ponder Jr. and Bess Winstead Ponder; her husband John Ellis Covington; and her brother John Lewis Ponder III (Frances). She is survived by : her daughters, Eleanor Ray (late Mike Ray) and Carolyn Loftin; her sister Nancy Brand; her grandchildren, Ashley Gilland (Doug), Jonathan Loftin, Mary Eleanor Loftin, Michael Ray (Haley), Kate Buchanan (John) and John Ellis Ray (Karley); her great grandchildren, George Gilland, Mary Mac Gilland, Ruthie Gilland, Jack Gilland, Gaines Gilland, MaKensie Bright, John Michael Ray, Lilah Kate Ray, Olivia Ray, Ellis Kate Buchanan, Mary Springer Buchanan, Robert Buchanan and Layton Ray; and her daughters, Orchard, Theresa Williams, Debbie Jones and Kristie McCoy. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
