She was predeceased by: her parents, Leonard Nelson Whiteside and Ora Irene Hall Whiteside; her husbands, James E. Smith and Ralph King; and her siblings, William Caswel Whiteside (W. C.), Marion Whiteside, Nelson Whiteside, Paul Whiteside and Ruby Whiteside McAllister.
She is survived by: her children, Harold Leonard Smith (Jane), Robert Steven Smith and Connie Lynette (David); her grandchildren, Steven Franklin Smith (Heather) and Tina Lynn Shourd (Cecil); her great grandchildren, Dalton Shourd (Marilu), Zachary Smith (Perry), Clayton Shourd (Hailey) and Cody Smith (Sarah); and her great great grandchildren, Blakely, Kingston, Everest, Dean, Beau and Scottie.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 22nd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Brantley Funeral Home (6875 Cockrum Rd, Olive Branch, MS 38654). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the same location. A committal service will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at the Ebenezer Cemetery (1063 Co Rd 3, Hickory Flat, MS 38633).
Her commitment to God and her community endured until dementia and Alzheimer's gradually took their toll.
