He was predeceased by : his parents, Columbus B. Brendle and Hazel Brendle Parker; his stepfather Henry Parker; and his siblings, Sue Ann Sams, Columbus Brendle, Jr., Myrtle Wofford, Jimmy Brendle and Roy Brendle.

He is survived by : his wife Patricia Brendle; his children, Melinda Brendle Kilbourne (Matt), Amanda Harper (John), Maggie McElwee and Ryan Brendle; his sisters, Joyce Brendle Meadows and Pauline Brendle Terrell; his grandchildren, Marcus Gregory, Jamie Green, Alyssa, Brock Harper, William, Esmeralda Zaragoza and Marvin Marlar; and his great grandchild Kaylee Anna Green.
