He was predeceased by : his parents, Lester Edwards and Mabel Fisher Edwards; his birth parents, Thomas Richard McCammon and Alma Redwine McCammon; and his siblings, William McCammon, Elton McCammon, Jimmy Luther and Mae Belle Fisk.

He is survived by : his wife Gaye Hankins Edwards of Houston, MS; his children, Anita Dugard (Jim) of Vardaman, MS and Robert Edwards (Rhonda) of Houston, MS; his siblings, Thomas McCammon, Louise Potts and Vivian of Washington; his grandchildren, Krista Wells (Rory Lee), Kasey Ellard (Parker), Matt Edwards and Anna Claire Edwards; and his great grandchildren, Anslle Wells and Cooper Ellard. He is also survived by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
