She was predeceased by: her parents, Everette Franklin and Inez McCluney Franklin; her husband Billy Shempert; her sisters, Alice Blue, Clara Chapman, Hilda Jernigan, Rose Haire and Vannie Tackett; and her son-in-law Joe Loftin.
She is survived by: her children, Anita Loftin of Houlka, Angelia Moss (Ricky) of Houlka, Chad Shempert of Pontotoc and Chris Shempert (Samantha) of Water Valley; her grandchildren, Krystal Poynor, Tim Moss (Mallory), Keisha Campbell (Steven), Meagan Morris (Andrew), Kayla McCary, Buck Poynor (Jaslyn Hopkins), Tanner, Austin, Braden Shempert, Dustin, Abbie Beard and Gage Maness; her great grandchildren, Kadence Gaskin, Rhett, Remi Morris, Isabelle, Kelly Campbell, Fisher, Kohen McCary, Quay, Laray Moss, Rorie Poynor, Ahlon Bean and Asher Sparks; her sister Lynette Collums of Houston; and her siblings-in-law, Josephine Mixon (Bob), Wayne Haire and Paul Jernigan. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Memorial Funeral Home (334 E Madison St, Houston, MS 38851). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Shiloh Baptist Church Memorial Fund or Sanctuary Hospice House.
