He is survived by: his wife Dr. Pamela Renee Cunningham; his children, Michael Paul Cunningham (Catherine) and Tracey L. Cunningham; his grandchildren, Zachary A. Swink, Emily E. Swink, Adam N. Swink, Ethan Michael Cunningham and Addison C. Cunningham; his great grandchild Nadia Faye Swink; his brothers, Charles Cunningham and James Cunningham; his close friend Steve Matheson (Kathy); his former wife Linda; his family Kathy; and his son Eagle Scout.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Red Cross, Girl Scouts NC Coastal Pines Council and the ASPCA.
