We announce the death of Buster Cumbest of Hurley, Mississippi, who passed away on June 26, 2026, at the age of 88. Buster will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Barney Cumbest and Rosalie Cumbest (Zeigler); his daughter Terri Cumbest Pierce (Mitchell); his granddaughter Channing Paige Pierce; his great grandchild Brantley Cumbest Hinton; his son-in-law Randy Adams; and his siblings, Delphia Bishop, Carbury "Buck" Cumbest, Varney "Flat" Cumbest, Gerald "Skipper" Cumbest, Mary Lou Yates and Marlene "Tenny" Pierce.

He is survived by: his wife Lorna Jean Holder Cumbest; his daughter Tammi Adams; his grandchildren, Dale Hinton (Stephenie), Skyler Adams (Loni), Dylon Pierce and Santana Magee (Matthew); and his great grandchildren, Blair Hinton, Ryker Adams, Gracie Adams, Paige Hinton, Brooklynn Magee, Olivia Magee and Lindy Magee. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, Buster requested that memorial donations be made to East Central Masonic Lodge #631, Highway 614, Moss Point, Mississippi 39562.
