He was predeceased by: his parents, Eddie James Bowen and Mary Louise Sibley Bowen; his siblings, Travis Bowen, Alice Dodd, Daisy Weatherford and Carolyn Burchfield; and his son Charles Eddie "Chase" Bowen, Jr..
He is survived by: his daughters, Paige Rushing (Eric) and Rebecca Brower (Bryan); his brother Clifford James Bowen (LaCelle); his close friend Brenda Lassett; the mother of his children Becky Bowen; and his former wife Bettie Weeks. He is also survived by one grandson; and three granddaughters.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association of the American Diabetes Foundation.
