He was predeceased by: his wife Elizabeth Ann "Bootsie" Miller; and his grandson Walter Brooks Hooper, III of Indianola, Mississippi.. He is survived by: his children, James "Bobby" Robert Miller, Jr. (Bernice) of Courtland, Mississippi and Barbara Ann Hooper of Indianola, Mississippi; his grandchildren, James "Rob" Robert Miller, III of Holcomb, Mississippi, Krista Elizabeth Miller of Indianola, Mary Ashley Miller-Shaddix (Andrew) of Gulfport and Karen Cummins (Andy) of Pope, Mississippi; and his great grandchildren, Carson Miller, Matthew Barnhill, Madison Barnhill and Ali Cockrell (Thomas).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Wounded Warrior Project in honor of Jimmy's memory.
