She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Donald Bailey, Jr. and Annie Lois Johnson Bailey; her brothers, Joseph Donald Bailey, III and David Bailey; and her grandson Bentley Grimes.

She is survived by: her daughter Janet Renee Grimes of Sturgis; her sister Carolyn Bailey Phillips of Indianola; her grandsons, John Grimes (Hannah) of Perkinston, Bradley Grimes (Terrie) of Lockport and Robert Grimes, II (Apyrl) of Sturgis; and her great grandchildren, Anastasia Grimes, Averie Hodges, Delana Helen Grimes, Bradley James Grimes, II, Terry Maverick Grimes, Robert Grimes, III, Tiffany Marie Grimes, Brycen Harris, Jackson Butler and Noah Grimes. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mississippi School for the Deaf.
