It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Robert Wayne Hughes of Indianola, Mississippi, born in Holcomb, Mississippi, who passed away on August 31, 2022, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, John Haney Hughes and Dora Emmons Hughes; and his sisters, Opal, Earleane and Christine.

He is survived by : his wife Joy Bethea Hughes of Indianola; his children, Robby Hughes, Toni Noah, Misty Sliman (Emile), Peter Snell, Adam Snell (Amanda) and Elise Mallette; his siblings, Jerry Hughes, Elizabeth Linebarger of Aiken and Sally Mooney of Aiken; and his grandchildren, Alex Noah, Caley Noah, Shelby Sliman, Logan Sliman, Allie Snell, Barrett Snell and Rob Mitchell.
