It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jerry Taylor of Itta Bena, Mississippi, who passed away on October 7, 2025, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the quiet moments of reflection, amidst the gentle rustle of leaves and the whispered song of the stars, we shall carry Jerry's memory with us, a guiding light illuminating the path ahead. May Jerry's journey be filled with peace and serenity, and may he find rest in the embrace of eternity.
He was predeceased by: his parents, William Everett Taylor and Alma Gardner Taylor; and his sister Tootsie Burgoon. He is survived by: his wife Erma Strain Taylor of Olive Branch; his children, Laura Reed (John) of Olive Branch and Jay Taylor (Laura) of Itta Bena; his grandchildren, Kathleen Massey (Drew) of Olive Branch and Taylor Reed (Nichole) of Southaven, MS; his great grandchild Emery Reed of Southaven; and his sister Rachel Taylor of Senatobia, MS.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the West President Church of Christ (1002 W President Ave, Greenwood, MS 38930).
In lieu of traditional flowers, the family requests that a donation be made in Jerry's honor to a charity of the donor's choice.
