With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Edna Johnson Gaines (Iuka, Mississippi), whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. She was predeceased by: her parents, Geraldine Johnson and Carlyle Johnson. She is survived by: her husband Arthur E. Gaines; her children, Gerri Forrest Young (Scott), Amy Urban (Tommy) and Rufus L. "Bud" Forrest III (Amy); her grandchildren, Ashley Nichols, Savannah Forrest, Bennett Forrest, Charles Forrest, Andrew Urban and Alex Urban; and her great grandchildren, Laney Peters and Bobby Nichols.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Calendar New Salem Baptist Church (94 Co Rd 283, Iuka, MS 38852).
Memorials may be made in her honor to the New Salem Baptist Church Building Fund, the Tishomingo County Food Depot, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
