She was predeceased by : her husband James T. Dawson; her sons, James T. "Jimmy" Dawson, Jr., Michael Wayne Dawson and Randy Dawson; her parents, Herbert Johnson and Dona Johnson; and her siblings, H. O. Johnson and Marlene Keith.

She is survived by : her siblings, Wanda Joslin (D. J.) and Travis Johnson (Sharon); her grandsons, Justin Dawson (Samantha) and Jonathan Dawson (Lindsey); her great grandchildren, Carter, Laney, Charley Kate, Jolene and James; and her daughter-in-law Sandra Dawson. She is also survived by family members and friends.

Memorials may be made in Esolene's honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
