He is survived by: his parents, Jane Sutherland Smith and Dr. Robert Allen Smith; his children, Sutherland, Anna Prescott and Collier Smith; and his siblings, Jane Hyde Sheally (Jerry), Allen Smith (Geri Beth) and Clayton Smith (Amy). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. James Episcopal Church 3921 Oakridge Drive, Jackson, MS 39216.
