With sadness, we share the passing of Barney Harold Jacks of Jackson, Mississippi. Barney, born on November 20, 1932, passed away on October 22, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Barney George Jacks and Allie Bruce Jacks; his wives, Carolyn Jacks and Nancy Jacks; his daughter Frances Daily; and his brother Joe Jacks.
He is survived by: his children, Jan Wade (Johnny) and Jay Jacks (Leslie); his grandchildren, Lauren Ludwig (Alston), Carolyne Wade Berger (Linley), Elizabeth Antoon (Martin), Merritt Jacks and Tyler Jacks; and his great grandchildren, Tyler, Anna Ludwig, Wade, Allie Antoon, Goldie and Cameron Berger.
A graveside service was held on Thursday, October 29th 2026 at 1:30 PM at the Bethlehem Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation was held on Friday, October 30th 2026 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Christ United Church (6000 Old Canton Rd, Jackson, MS 39211). A memorial service was held on Friday, October 30th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests any memorial gifts to the New Yorker Sunday School Outreach Program or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
