She was predeceased by: her parents, Lula Rozell Lee and John Palmer of Edwards, Mississippi.; her husband Eddie Nelson; her grandmother Ollie Rozell; her siblings, Jasper Lee, Willie Rozell and Mattie Jones; her children, Wanda Hopkins, Jimmy Nelson and Russell Nelson; and her grandsons, Kerry Walker and Anthony Moore.
She is survived by: her children, Earnest Palmer (Mozella), Bobby Palmer (Evelyn), Eddie Palmer (Eva), Charles Rozell (Netta), Willie Palmer (Yolanda), Ronnie Palmer, Dorothy Pittman, Alma Walker, Diane Kyles and Trina Nelson; her brothers, Promise Lee (Linda), Chester Lee (Deloris), James Lee and Aaron Lee (Frances); and her close friends, Lois Flag and Mary Moss. She is also survived by twenty-seven grandchildren; forty-six great-grandchildren; fourteen great-great grandchildren.
