He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry May and Vernice May; and his siblings, Faye Ferrell, Harold and Kelsey.

He is survived by: his wife Bettie S. May; his children, Gary (Tracy), Steve (BJ), Keith (Bethany) and Judy McLemore (Greg); and his grandchildren, Crystal Newman, Garett May, Leah Dibiase, Cameron May, Hannah Wild, Karlyn Wild, Hudson May, Alexis May and Mauri May. He is also survived by several great grandchildren.
