He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Henry Dickens and Hattie Williams Dickens; and his sister Frances Jane "Honey" Dickens. He is survived by: his wife Diane Martin Dickens of Jackson; his sons, Chad Dickens of Pensacola, FL and Roger Dickens (Rachel) of Longmont, CO; his nephew Keith Massey of Natchez; and his great-nephew Zachary Massey.
