He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Bryan Shillingburg and Ethel Pearl Geenan Shillingburg; and his sister Gloria Carbin. He is survived by: his wife Martha Cooper Shillingburg of Starkville, MS; his daughter April Dingess; his stepdaughters, Melissa Osburn (Gary), Cynthia McCoy, Carolyn Spence and Angie McCoy; and his brothers, Gary Shillingburg (Laura), Ric Shillingburg (Pat) and Randy Shillingburg.
