Christine Moore Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Christine Moore (Jackson, Mississippi), who passed away on October 29, 2022, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends.
Christine Moore, born Christine Shelton on 7/18/1950. She is the only child born to Josephine Shelton. The eldest daughter of Alphonzo Matthews. She was born in Madison County, where she attended Rosa Scott School. She later moved to Jackson, MS, where she attended Brinkley High School and played basketball. She also attended CM&I. She later in life continued her education by attending Phillips Junior College, where she earned an associates degree in legal secretary.
Christine, in her early childhood, attended Mt Charity Baptist Church. She was a children Sunday school teacher and usher. After moving to Jackson she attended Friendship and New Hope, where she sang in the choir. In 1977 she became a member of Greater Bethlehem Temple until she became ill. She considered that her church home until passing.
She leaves to cherish her memories TWO uncles Felix (Sarah) Scott & Eddie Lee Shelton Jr, ONE aunt Lucille Holmes, FOUR siblings Diane Spann, Glenn Matthews, Lester Scott, Margo Matthews, THREE children Vickie Shelton, Kesha Nelson, Josetta Moore, EIGHT grandchildren Christopher (Karina), Arielle (Dorian), Dongieux (Malachi), Deyjah (Pat), Johnathan, Zoi, Joshua, Da'Myah, TEN great-grandchildren Christopher Jr, Dorian II, Jaydenn, Zylan, Zhen, Dawn, Grayson, Lamauri, Ava, Jordan, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
