He was predeceased by: his parents, Grady B. Ely and Ruth Edith Ely; and his brother-in-law Benny Hearndon. He is survived by: his wife Ruth Ely; his children, Patty Goff (Thomas), Jeff Ely (Jennie) and Matthew Ely (Bethany); his grandchildren, Jacob Goff (Amanda) and Katelynn Goff; and his siblings, George Ely (Glenda), Sandy Hearndon and Elaine McDonald (Mack). He is also survived by numerous extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Moments Funeral Home (7158 MS-63, Lucedale, MS 39452).
