He is survived by: his wife Deborah Gale Mathis of Tupelo, Mississippi.; his children, Katharine Day Lightsey Browning (Shawn) of Jackson and Joseph Michael Lightsey (Sally) of Augusta, Georgia.; his grandchildren, Jane Woodward Lightsey, Frances Crawford Lightsey, Benjamin Baker Lightsey and Nelson Joseph Browning; his sister Sharon Lightsey Walters (Ronnie) of Madison; and his siblings-in-law, Pat Mathis Dunn of Madison, Jean Dunn of Madison, Gary O'Ryan Mathis (Susan) and James Calvin Mathis (Athena) of Saltillo.
