We bid farewell to Janella Magee Evers in Jackson, Mississippi, born in Tylertown, Mississippi, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on May 5, 2025 at the age of 86. Janella Magee touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Lena Mae and Wade Lampton Magee; her husband Carl G. Evers, MD; her son Carl Gustav Evers; and her grandson Charles Nelson Crump.
She is survived by: her daughters, Karen Alicia Evers (Bryan Robertson) and Julie Evers Crump; her grandson Charles Jackson Crump; her sister Kate Magee Johnson (William); her nieces, Tiffany Moreira (Rick) and Summerlyn Nation; and her close friends, Bonita McGee, Kim Bennett, Breanna Walker, Carolyn Williams and Caroline Allison. She is also survived by three great nephews, three great nieces and a newborn great-great-niece.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 29th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Philip's Episcopal Church (5400 Old Canton Rd, Jackson, MS 39211). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 29th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
