With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Jean T. Carroll in Jackson, Mississippi, born in Houston, Texas, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 23, 2026 at the age of 87. She was predeceased by: her husband Ralph Wilson Blackmon; her parents, Arthur Howard Thornburg and Kathryn Marie Curtis Thornburg; and her grandson-in-law Paul Langham. She is survived by: her sons, Don Blackmon (Betsy) and Ken Blackmon (Cindy); her grandchildren, Richard Blackmon (Sarah), Stephen Blackmon (Reign), Leslie Langham and Allison McKenzie (Brandon); her great grandchildren, Joseph Langham, Matthew Langham, Anya McKenzie, Chloe McKenzie and Tatum McKenzie; her siblings-in-law, Linda Blackmon and Billy McCraw; Irene.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 28th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Ott & Lee Funeral Homes- Brandon (1360 W Government St, Brandon, MS 39042). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 28th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 28th 2026 at 2:30 PM at the Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery (633 Greens Creek Rd, Carson, MS 39427).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Crossgates Methodist Church in Jean T. Carroll's memory.
