He is survived by: his wife Gayla Ballard Purvis; his children, John Alexander Purvis (Mary) of Ridgeland, Spencer Ballard Purvis of Ouray and Anna Catherine Purvis Frame (Andy) of Jackson; his grandchildren, Cate, Jack Purvis, Ryder Purvis, Sybil and Davis Frame; his brothers, George Dewey Purvis, III (Nancy) and Mitchell Mark Purvis (Dixie); and his siblings-in-law, Diane Chapman (Roy), Dickie Ballard (Julie) and Keithel Ballard (Jean). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Northminster Baptist Church (3955 Ridgewood Rd, Jackson, MS 39211). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location. The inurnment was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
