She was predeceased by: her parents, Jessie Holt and Mattie Mowdy Holt; her husband John Mathis; her children, Johnny Eugene Mathis and Janice Adams; and her siblings, James of Willie, J. C., David Holt, Zettie Manton and Jennette Armstrong.
She is survived by: her children, Belton Lee Mathis (Susan), David Lyn Mathis (Eva), Debra K Griffis (Patrick) and Mattie Darlene Hill (Jeffery); and her sister Betty Moudy (Paul). She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
