She was predeceased by: her parents, Martha Louise Beall Anderson and Chester Allen Thomas; and her grandson Stephen Thomas Pettigrew. She is survived by: her husband Richard Van Egmond; and her children, Angela Pettigrew (Calvin), Pamela Matrick (Jake), Andy Fullington (Donna), Lanny Foote (Angie), Jennifer Rhea (Jeff), Vicki Sartain and Elizabeth Van Egmond. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and four great- grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family would kindly request that memorial contributions be made to the Go Fund Missions and/or Orchestra Scholarship Fund at First Baptist Church of Jackson, carrying on Irene's mission of faith hope and charity.
