He is survived by: his parents, Jerry Coon and Sylvia Cothern Coon of Jayess, MS; his brother Scott Coon; his sister-in-law Maria Coon of Fort Worth, TX; his sibling's children, Matthew Clay Coon (Olivia) of Pittsburgh, PA, Madelyn Coon (Matt Hartzell) of Greenville, SC and Nolan Coon (Kelsie); and his great-nephew Cooper Coon of Pittsburgh, PA..

He encouraged others to consider organ donation as an option.
