It is with great sadness that we announce the death of William James Hawthorne (Kilmichael, Mississippi), who passed away on April 30, 2025, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. William Taft Hawthorne, Sr. and Christine Harris Hawthorne; and his siblings, Murlee Hawthorne, Joe Louis Hawthorne, Cornelius Hawthorne, Shirley Ann Hawthorne Frizell, Ruthie Mae Burnside, Minnie Francis Samuels, Sarah Elizabeth Peeler and James French Hawthorne.
He is survived by: his children, Elton Truss (Lisa) of Orlando, FL, Kimeo C. Truss Hawthorne of Milwaukee, WI and Gin L. Hawthorne of Milwaukee, WI.; his siblings, Lubertha Estes, Vera P. Hawthorne of Kosciusko, MS, Earlene Peeler (Fred) of Chicago, IL and Taft Hawthorne Jr. of Kosciusko, MS; and his friend Johnny Fair of Kosciusko. He is also survived by great-great- grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, church family, and friends.
