He was predeceased by: his former wife June Herron; his daughter Tracy Lynn Herron; his son-in-law Thalus Ladner; his granddaughter Jenny Lynn Herron; his parents, Gordon Herron and Evelyn Herron Rodriguez; and his brother Roy B. Herron.
He is survived by: his wife Peggy Herron; his children, Gordon J. Herron III (Jennifer), Stacy L. Herron (Brandy), John M. Herron (Kristi), Michelle M. Ladner, Timothy A. Herron (Maegan), Cory J. Herron (Kelsey), Olivia A. Malley (Dustin), Kayla M. Martinez (Pablo), Chloe L. Herron and Destiny M. Taylor (Donavon); his stepchildren, Jimmy Melton (Jamie), Cynthia Henley (Sammy), Woodrow Melton and Misty Melton; and his sister Cindy. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025 from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM and on Thursday, July 24th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A Mass will be held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Annunciation Church (16257 Sister Mary Ellen Rd, Kiln, MS 39556). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Diamondhead (1250 Kapalama Dr, Diamondhead, MS 39525).
