It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Arthur Steele Sartain (Kosciusko, Mississippi), who passed away on March 18, 2026, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid Arthur farewell, let us not mourn the absence of his physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of his spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Arthur is not truly gone, but merely transformed, his energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James Albert and Lady Mary Sartain; and his wife Claudia Sue Graham Sartain. He is survived by: his children, Toby G Sartain (Cheryl), Hunter S Sartain, Beth Sartain Bowman (Mark) and Shane Sartain (Karen); and his close friend Polly Hope Allen. He is also survived by numerous grandkids, great grandkids, nieces, and nephews.
Because Arthur faithfully invested in and supported young people throughout his life, the family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to one of the ministries closest to his heart: the Youth Fund at Ethel Baptist Church, his home church, or the Youth Fund at First Baptist Braxton, where his grandchildren serve.
