He was predeceased by : his wife Elizabeth Kay Smith; his sons, Samuel Gene Smith and Boyce McKay Smith; and his parents, Leon Clifton and Ora D. Smith.

He is survived by : his daughter-in-law Paige Smith; his granddaughters, Heather Spellman (Justin) and Haley Kogler (Greg); and his great grandchildren, Parker Spellman and Paylyn Spellman.

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 18th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Pate-Jones Funeral Home (4174 Hwy 51 S, Senatobia, MS 38668). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 18th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, April 18th 2024 at the Bethesda Cemetery.
