She was predeceased by: her husband Rev. R. B. Gardner; her parents, Jack Shelley and Katie Maude Shelley; and her sister Saralan Brown. She is survived by: her children, Joann Whittington of Forest, MS, Sarah Hamm (Daniel) of Union, MS and John Gardner (Shelley) of Forest, MS.; her grandchildren, Jacob Hamm (Kathyleen), Jack Hamm, Cole Barnes and D. J. Monk (Brooke); her great grandchildren, Annie Kaye Monk and Hannah Grace Monk; and her siblings, Ruby Fortenberry of Forest, MS, Matthew Shelley (Marsha) of Forest, MS and Jimmy Shelley (Betty) of Conehatta, MS.. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Her contributions to her church and community were a testament to her selflessness and commitment, earning her the title of a silent worker who touched the lives of many.
