Payne, III (Paula), Mary Elizabeth Payne-Brewer (Larry), Tripp Ward (Natalie) and Justin Ward (Kasey); his grandchildren, Joel Payne (Lana), Kannon Ward, Emma Ward, Presley Ward, Hampton Ward and Sailer Ward; his great grandchildren, Duncan, Kaitlyn, Mila, Roman and Luna; his siblings, William N. "Bill" Payne (Connie) and Katherine Cole; and his mother-in-law Saranel Clayton.

The Payne Family suggests memorials be made as donations to the American Diabetes Foundation in lieu of flowers.
