He is survived by: his wife Ruth C. Williams Wheat of Laurel; his children, David Edmond Wheat of Ellisville, Mike Wheat (Marlisa) of Laurel, Linda Carol Ivy (Tony) of Tampa, FL and Mary Ann Samples (LaBron) of Mc Donald, TN; his siblings, Bobby Wheat (Ann) of Collins, Bill Wheat of Petal and Linda Mooney (Leslie) of Seminary; his grandchildren, David Joel Clark, Shane Michael Wheat, Kelli Turner, Karah Wheat and Brittany Lynn Wheat; and his great grandchildren, Kolbe Turner, Raynee Wheat, Asher Clark, Anden Clark and Memphis Clark. He is also survived by one great-grandson on the way; several nieces and nephews.
