She was predeceased by: her husband Johnny E. "Doc" Hartfield; her parents, Barry Maxey and Alice Whigham Moss; and her sisters, Tina Williams and Becky Davis.

She is survived by: her children, John Wesley Hartfield (Mary) and Lisa Hartfield Powell (Brad); her grandchildren, Morgan Powell Sims (Chris), Aaron Bradford Powell, Matthew John Hartfield and Andrew Christopher Hartfield; her siblings, Frankie Maxey and Terry Taylor; and her great grandchild Amelia Jayne Sims.
