We bid farewell to Deloris Delancey of Laurel, Mississippi, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on July 29, 2025 at the age of 83. Deloris touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Luther Johnson and Willie Lee Hutchinson Johnson; her husband Denzle Ray Delancey; her daughters, Terri and Sherri; her brothers, Boyse Johnson, Johnny Johnson (Dunky), Basil Johnson and Tony Johnson; and her granddaughter Kayla Harper.
She is survived by: her children, Theresa Gregory (Rusty), Elaine Haven (Jeff), David Delancey (Cyndie), Annette Johnson Hall (Johnny), Tammy Parker (Curtis) and Tianda Steed (Marty); and her siblings, JoAnn Graves, Janice Burns and Larry Johnson. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Peter Catholic Church (4135 MS-42, Bassfield, MS 39421). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 at the St. James Cemetery.
