It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Elizabeth Ann Smith of Laurel, Mississippi, born in Moss Point, Mississippi, who passed away on November 3, 2025, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Melvin Smith; her parents, Artis Wilkerson and Maude Wilkerson; and her siblings, Blanche Simmons and Arnold Simmons (Lenelle).
She is survived by: her children, Rachel Chaney (Alex) of Hokes Bluff, AL, Belinda Ratcliff (Bruce) of Columbia, MS and Philip Smith (Stephanie) of Laurel, MS; her grandchildren, Sarah Platt (Brian), Meredith Ledbetter (Matthew), Nathan Chaney, Mallory Ratcliff, Jordan Rustin (Braxton), Kynlee Smith and Cruz Smith; and her great grandchild Anna Kathryn Platt. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 7th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Salem Heights Baptist Church (5850 Hwy 84 W, Ellisville, MS 39443). A funeral service was held on Friday, November 7th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Gideons International.
