Though Gaston may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Gaston touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Dudley Stokes of Laurel and Frances Butler Stokes of Laurel. He is survived by: his daughter Halli Stokes; his granddaughters, McKenna Jane and Renvi Kate Smith of Laurel; and his siblings, Clifton Stokes of Laurel, Jimmy Johnson (Melissa) of Ellisville, Bonnie Smith of Ellisville and Linda Stokes of Laurel. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Lake Congregational Methodist Church (2645 US-84, Laurel, MS 39443).
