He was predeceased by: his wife Rose C. Wood; his parents, Vernon Dallas Wood and Alice Rayner Wood; his children, Darryl Wood, Peggy Riddell and Cindy Fortenberry; and his siblings, Herman Wood, Hughie Wood, Houston Wood, Nettie Ruth Ainsworth and Tressie Mae Wood.
He is survived by: his children, Earl Wood, Cathy Rogers and Lisa Hodge; his sister Linda Pagano; and his grandchildren, Charlie Rogers, Kimberly Fortenberry, Dana Fortenberry, Justin Myrick, Joshua Myrick, Summer Myrick, Jacob Martin, Hope Flowers Taylor and Nicole Dawn Byrd. He is also survived by fourteen great grandchildren.
