She was predeceased by: her husband James R. Whittington; her parents, G. W. Rivers and Rhoda Welborn Rivers; and her sisters, Betty Shoemaker and Sybil Hoover.
She is survived by: her children, Jim Whittington Jr. (Janice), Becky Thrash (Steve) and Drew L. Whittington; her grandchildren, Joshua Thrash (Tanya), Adam D. Thrash (Michelle), Chris Whittington (LeAnn), Leigh Whittington (Susan), Dr. Andrew Whittington, Jonathan Whittington and Elizabeth Whittington; and her close friend Debbie Pool. She is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews.
