He was predeceased by: his parents, S. E. Grimes, Jr. and Earl; and his wife Gail Herring Grimes. He is survived by: his children, James Hunter Grimes (Catfish) of Gulfport, Laura Grimes Singley of Hattiesburg and Memory Grimes Graham of Hattiesburg; his sister Lynda Grimes Ferris (Doug) of Oxford, MS; his grandchildren, Dr. Rachael Gandy Hudson (Kel), Alan Singley, Rayne Graham, Kade Grimes, Autumn Graham and Rylee Grimes; and his great grandchild Frances Hudson. He is also survived by son and brother.
