She was predeceased by: her father Harvey Johnson; and her brothers, Ralph Johnson and Neil Johnson. She is survived by: her husband Steven Thornton, Sr. of Laurel; her children, Summer Brooks, Stanley Thornton and Steven Thornton, Jr.; her mother Jo Ann Johnson; her brothers, Ken Johnson (Brandy) and Travis Johnson; and her sister-in-law Babs Johnson. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, and eight grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, November 2nd 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the Trinity Baptist Church (35 Trinity Rd, Laurel, MS 39440). A funeral service was held on Sunday, November 2nd 2025 at 2:30 PM at the same location.
